Our Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick and Giraffe Centre day tour brings three complementary wildlife experiences into one private day. We begin with an early game drive in Nairobi National Park, continue to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Nursery for its scheduled elephant conservation session, and finish at the Giraffe Centre Nairobi for a close encounter with Rothschild giraffes.
This is one of the most complete wildlife-focused Nairobi excursions for travellers with only a day in the capital. Each stop has a different purpose: the national park is about free-ranging wildlife and habitat; the Nursery explains rescue and rehabilitation; and the Giraffe Centre adds species conservation and environmental education in a relaxed setting.
Morning safari in Nairobi National Park
We collect you early from your hotel, residence or agreed airport-area point and drive to Nairobi National Park. The private pop-up roof 4x4 allows your guide to choose productive routes and stop for wildlife photography without the limitations of a shared vehicle. Rhinos are an important feature of the park, while lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and many birds are also possible.
The exact game-drive route changes with road conditions and animal movement. We use the early morning for the park because the temperatures are cooler and we must also protect enough time for the fixed Sheldrick visit later in the morning.
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Nursery
We aim to reach the Nursery area by about 10:30 am so there is enough time for entry procedures before the 11:00 am session. The one-hour visit introduces the orphaned elephants, their rescue stories and the work required to rehabilitate them. Advance booking is essential, and the session cannot be extended for late arrival.
Giraffe Centre Nairobi
After the Nursery we continue to the Giraffe Centre, where you can meet Rothschild giraffes from the raised feeding platform and learn about the conservation programme behind the experience. A typical visit can take around 30 to 60 minutes depending on the pace of the day. If time allows, the surrounding nature trail offers a quieter way to finish the wildlife circuit.
A practical Nairobi wildlife day
This route keeps all three stops in the southern side of Nairobi, helping reduce unnecessary cross-city travel. After the Giraffe Centre, we return you to your hotel or another agreed drop-off point. A lunch or snack stop can be added, but meals are not included in the published excursion price.
Who this tour suits
The excursion is a good fit for couples, solo travellers, families and small private groups who want several Nairobi wildlife highlights in one day. The published rate structure is available for a maximum of four travellers. Larger groups require a different transport and pricing plan, so contact us for a tailored arrangement rather than trying to fit more guests into the same vehicle setup.
What to bring
Wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes, carry sun protection and bring a camera or binoculars if you have them. A light layer is useful for the early game drive. Bottled water is provided. Share children’s ages, flight details and any mobility requirements before payment so we can plan the route and attraction access correctly.
